Chara Hammered Bottle - Clear Glass and Antique Brass

Chara bottles are full of sophisticated rustic charm; these artisan made pieces involve hammering the glass with traditional tools providing a subtle textured affect. The glass is skilfully blown through the brass ring creating this elegant shape. 

Solder marks are often evident on the brass as a result of this complex handmade process. Nkuku use recycled glass to make these collections. Firstly, the waste glass is collected and washed to remove any impurities; it is then crushed and melted down before being hand blown or placed in moulds to create beautiful new products.
